Jen Haggerty is a wonder! From our first meeting when we blocked out the schedule of my move to the last moments after she had guided me in putting my new home back together, Jen was the consummate professional, the empathic guide, the skilled mentor, the strong energetic worker...my trusted companion along the way. I was moving from my beloved home in Boston's South End where I had lived for half a century to a sun-filled tree house in Chesnut Hill, and I faced the huge transition with anxiety and reluctance. Jen understood the currents of emotion that flashed through me as we dismantled my home and she kept me balanced and hopeful. She also selected, and worked closely with, the movers coordinating and organizing everything with grace and efficiency. Our landing at my new home was smooth and carefully planned with impeccable forethought and detail. Within two days of strenuous sorting, unpacking, and curating, I began to feel like this new place was becoming HOME. A new chapter to celebrate, a new adventure to revel in...a move in the right direction!

We could not have managed our transition from the house we had lived in for 50 years to a small condo without the support and guidance from Jen and Moving in the Right Direction. We had an attic, basement, and garage that were spilling over with a lifetime of possessions and meaningful things. We were overwhelmed and did not know where to begin. After my husband suffered a stroke I was left on my own to downsize from our family home of 45 years. I was paralyzed by monumental task at hand. Luckily, a friend told me about Jen and Moving in the Right Direction. When she came to meet me she was so warm to me - like I had known her forever, which put me at ease. Together we devised a plan and Jen organized the movers, and went through the house room by room: do we keep it, donate it, or sell it? She assisted me with very tough decisions and she was always aware of my feelings while gently guiding me. She never challenged my decisions, even when I was probably hanging on to things I should not have. She and her team always made me feel like I was in charge. The minute Jen sat down to meet with us we could tell that she was genuine and compassionate. She had an unusual way of understanding our “senior” ways and our predicament. Friends and family had been helping us for months to clear out the house and we were exhausted and stressed and feeling like we weren’t making progress. Jen gently listened and after asking many questions designed a plan to get us through the process of downsizing. She is a wealth of information and had all the necessary resources we needed to get through the transition from moving from our home of 35 years to our much smaller condo. Without her we would have been stuck. The move plan she made was so thorough and well thought out that our stress and worries were put to rest and we concentrated on our “homework” and Jen took care of the rest! We cannot recommend Jen and her happy, helpful team enough.
